CADS NCD runs an annual 1 day ski trip, also known as the Fun Day
Here are the details:
Purpose:
- This is an end of season celebration. It’s intended to be a fun day of free skiing at a bigger hill, for both our skiers and our volunteers. This is separate from our weekly programs, and is not an extra lesson.
Location:
- Our usual choice is Mont Avila. Mt Avila is close to Mont St. Sauveur. In fact they are connected and share the same runs, lifts and pass. You can ski from one to the other.
- We use the Mont Avila base station because it is more accessible.
General Schedule:
- This event runs in March, when most of our other Program have finished.
- This event runs on a week end day, sometimes Saturday, sometimes Sunday.
- Bus transportation is included. With pick ups at one or two prearranged spots in the early morning (around 7 AM)
- Arrival at the ski hill will be around 10 AM
- Lunch is at your own choice
- Bus departure is around 4 PM
- Bus drop off will be at the same locations as the pick up, around 7 PM
Who can come:
- Skiers with a disability who are registered in any CADS NCD program
- People who volunteer with any CADS NCD program (whether the volunteer as a ski instructor or not)
- Friends and family of CADS skiers or volunteers (they will purchase a temporary CADS membership)
What is Included:
- Bus transport to the hill and back
- Lift pass
- Snacks and drinks on the return journey
- Skiing!
- Fun!
What is not Included:
- Lunch
- Ski Lessons
- Volunteers to assist skiers with skiing, lifts etc.
- This is a free skiing day for our volunteers, skiers are expected to be independent
- If you cannot ski independently you can ask people to help you but this MUST be arranged before the day. You cannot come on the day and assume there will be volunteers to assist you.
- As a volunteer or ski instructor you can say no if asked, and choose to ski independently, this day is intended to be a fun day for volunteers as well as skiers.
Things to note:
- Make sure your gear is in a bag or tied together, so it can be easily loaded & unloaded from the bus.
- If we have 1 bus there will be separate luggage areas for the 2 drop off points. Don’t put your bag in the wrong area and send it to the wrong drop off point.
