CADS-NCD Cascades

A big welcome back to our program!! We are very much looking forward to this season. It’s our 10th anniversary and I’m sure we will be coming up with something special in order to celebrate this milestone.

A little about me .. I am the new program coordinator for Mont Cascades .. my name is Theresa Arsenault. Last year I joined CADS after a work colleague had talked to me about the program knowing that my kids were older and I had prior teaching experience (I actually taught at Mt Cascades for 8 years and am a Cantley native). I am a CSIA Level II instructor with experience ranging from “never nevers” to intermediate / advanced, children and adults alike. I am planning on getting CADS certification this year as well.

This past weekend (December 13/14) we partnered with Edelweiss for instructor / volunteer training. It was a great time .. lots of positive energy .. and lots of learning so that we can now have more in our “bag of tricks” which help us help our students become more independent while having fun!
More training opportunities will be coming so keep checking back for updated information about our program this year.

This year the program starts off January 10th for 8 consecutive Saturdays with the last one being February 28th .. well barring any unforeseen weather conditions such as the ice storm we experience last year!

As always, we are in need of volunteers .. we promise to offer fun times and lots of laughs as well as complimentary lift tickets .. ski improvement sessions as well as continued training for adaptive skiing .. of course coupled with coffee and muffins after those early morning sessions on Saturdays!
Registration forms have already been provided .. and I am asking that you return them to me by December 31st along with confirmation that you have renewed your CADS National membership ..

Fees remain at $250 per skier this year.

Again we ask that all skiers be at the hill by 9:30 so that we can start our program at 10am and run to 3pm. If you are unable to make it please give me as much notice as you can ... by email (tig13@hotmail.com) or cell 613.883.5513.
